
Karen Y. Gordon (김 연 재) is a Licensed Acupuncturist and Doctor of Oriental Reproductive Medicine and Women’s Health. She has learned the importance of natural medicine from the teachings of Buddhism passed down by many generations of her family. She teaches basic meditation, Tai Chi, and Qigong that is easy to practice daily. She also carries on the 38th generations of TCM and QiGong practices which has been passed down by her teachers.
She pursued her childhood dreams and graduated with honors from Yo San University. Karen received an MA in Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture and a DAOM in Women's Health and Fertility. She also has a Bachelors degree in Music Composition from Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle. Karen enjoyed a successful musical career and received various awards as a singer, composer and producer in Korea. She also was recognized as one of the first singers to perform for the AIDS Awareness and Benefit Concert in Seoul and Green Peace Concert.
Karen worked at the Yo San University Clinic and Yo San's Fertility and Women's Health Specialty Clinic treating both male and female fertility and more. She also worked with the Venice Family and Pain Clinic in an integrative medical setting with other Medical Doctors, Chiropractors, Psychiatrist and Acupuncturists, successfully treating patients with pain, insomnia, stress, depression, low energy, addiction, weight loss, infertility, stress, anxiety, diabetes and much more. She also taught TCM at Yosan University and Dong Guk University of Los Angeles.
Karen was born in Seoul, South Korea and immigrated with her family to the United States at the age of 12. She grew up with Traditional East Asian Medicine and was exposed to many different healing modalities such as herbal formulas, cupping, moxa treatment, acupressure and Korean Hand Acupuncture Therapy since she was a child. This unique experience has provided her with a solid foundation as a practitioner of Eastern Medicine and Nutrition. She is currently in private practice at Beacon East Asian Medicine, in Pasadena, California.
